Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Aubrey O’Day Pitch in for Teaser to Todrick Hall’s New MTV Series (Exclusive Video)

YouTube star’s reality series “Todrick” will premiere August 31

YouTube star Todrick Hall is crossing over into mainstream television with his new MTV series.

In the first trailer for “Todrick” premiering August 31, Hall enlists the help of his friends to put together elaborate video shoots that showcase his talents as a singer, dancer, director and choreographer. Among those who make an appearance in the video are fellow YouTube personality GloZell, pop singer Aubrey O’Day and “Don Jon” star Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Hall’s YouTube channel, featuring the performer’s music videos, behind-the-scenes clips and traditional YouTube-style vlogs, boasts more than 1.6 million subscribers and 145 million views. The MTV series will offer a backstage glimpse of the performer’s creative process as he creates his viral videos.

During his appearance promoting the show at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour last week, Hall had kind words for his small creative team. “When you go to a music video set, you have a team of 20-40 people. [Shawn Adeli] moves every single light, he shoots every single shot himself and edits every single thing of mine you see online.”

“Todrick” premieres August 31 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
