Jon Stewart Skewers Brian Williams: ‘Finally Somebody is Being Held to Account’ For Iraq War Lies (Video)

“It occurs when the celebrity cortex gets its wires crossed with the medulla-anchor-gata,” Stewart says about Williams’ confusion

Jon Stewart took on the Brian Williams controversy Monday, introducing “infotainment confusion syndrome.”

“It occurs when the celebrity cortex gets its wires cross with the medulla-anchor-gata,” Steward joked, showing that Williams’ different head positions dictate whether he’s telling the truth.

“Today marks the 70th anniversary of World War II—I know because I killed Hitler,” Stewart said as he turned his head.

He then pivoted to the media’s onslaught of coverage on Williams, saying they were right to cover the Williams saga:

“Finally somebody is being held to account for misleading America about the Iraq War,” he said to audience applause.

Stewart then ran a montage of other media lies told in the buildup to the Iraq War, showing that the media who is slamming Williams also misled in its own coverage.
