“Jersey Shore Family Vacation” has been renewed for a second season, MTV said Wednesday.
News of the renewal comes ahead of the show’s premiere on April 5.
The network will begin a countdown on March 15 at 8 p.m. with four “Road to Vacation” specials that look back on iconic moments from the original series. Every Thursday, fans will get a throwback including new cast interviews until “Family Vacation” airs.
“Jersey Shore” housemates Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio,” Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino all reunite for the “Family Vacation” spinoff.
The original unscripted series started in 2009, introducing the world to GTL (that’s the Saturday routine of Gym, Tanning, Laundry) and “tee-shirt time.”
“Jersey Shore Family Vacation” comes from producer SallyAnn Salsano, who’s also behind MTV’s series “Floribama Shore,” which has also been renewed for a second season. Nina L. Diaz and Jackie French are executive producers for MTV.
