Jeff Wachtel, Chris McCumber Promoted to USA Network Co-Presidents

Wachtel helped develop hits including “Burn Notice;” McCumber led “Characters Welcome” campaign

Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber have been promoted to co-presidents of the USA Network, reporting to NBCU Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios Chair Bonnie Hammer.

The appointments at the top-rated cable network continue NBC's management changes since its acquisition by Comcast in January.

Wachtel, previously the president of original programming, now oversees all operations, including developing content for USA and other networks. He joined USA in 2001 as executive vice president of series and long-form programming. 

Wachtel helped developed shows including "Burn Notice," "Royal Pains," "White Collar," "Covert Affairs," "Psych" and "In Plain Sight."

He is based in Los Angeles.

McCumber, who was responsible for conceiving and executing USA's successful “Characters Welcome” branding campaign, will oversee strategic direction and operations. He was the executive vice president of marketing, digital and brand strategy for four years, and was previously a senior vice president, responsible for the overall strategic and creative vision for USA marketing. He remains in charge of all WWE programming and integrated sales. 

Also a commercial film director, McCumber helmed 14 short films for “Saturday Night Live” entitled “Fuzzy Memories by Jack Handy.” 

McCumber is based in New York.
