Jared Leto released a new photo of himself sporting The Joker’s trademark green hair and red lips on Thursday for his upcoming role in “Suicide Squad.”
Leto posted the colorful image via his official Snapchat account and fans quickly screenshot it so it could be shared with the Internet at large. “Suicide Squad” director David Ayer had previously released a photo of the actor with green hair as he prepared for the role.
While Leto is no stranger to wearing lipstick and makeup, having won an Oscar for playing a transgender character in “Dallas Buyers Club,” this is the furthest along we have seen him in his transformation into the Clown Prince of Crime.
“Suicide Squad” follows a group of supervillains who are forced to team up and help the government, as represented by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). TheWrap first reported the castings of both Leto and “Lost” actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who will play Killer Croc.
“Suicide Squad” is currently scheduled for release August 5, 2016.
