Jane Lynch will host the 2016 People’s Choice Awards on CBS, the network announced Tuesday.
“As a people myself, I’m thrilled to take on hosting duties of the only awards show that celebrates the choice of the people!” she said.
Lynch is a four-time People’s Choice Award nominee and won for Favorite TV Comedy Actress in 2011. She will also play an outspoken guardian angel in the new CBS comedy “Angel From Hell,” which is set to premiere in Feb. 2016.
The final nominees across 65 categories for the annual awards show will be announced at a press conference on Nov. 3 at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.
On television, Lynch starred as Sue Sylvester in the series “Glee,” a role for which she won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe. She is also an Emmy winner for her role as host of “Hollywood Game Night.” She also hosted the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
In film, she has played memorable roles in comedies such as “40 Year Old Virgin,” “Best in Show” and “A Mighty Wind.”
The 2016 People’s Choice Awards will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Jan. 6 at 9 p.m./8c.
