“Franco: A Documentary,” which started filming in June 2013, will focus on Franco’s controversial exploits in academia and the art world, as well as touch on his conventional film career and Broadway debut.
Vangellow, who also produced the documentary, had access to Franco’s family and close friends. Seth Rogen and Klaus Biesenbach, curator of New York’s Museum of Modern Art, are just two of the names expected to appear in the film, according to individuals familiar with the production.
