“Into the Badlands” Season 2 has an official premiere date, along with a crazy first full trailer that puts the action front and center.
First off, Season 2 will premiere March 19 at 10 p.m./9c on AMC. But now on to the fun, martial arts stuff. At the end of Season 1, Sunny (Daniel Wu) was held prisoner by the River King.
As seen in the trailer, Sunny has been sold into slavery, working in a mining camp alongside Bajie (Nick Frost). Frost gets in on the action, dispatching a couple of foes with sets of nunchucks. The real star of the trailer, however, is The Widow (Emily Beecham), who cuts a bloody path through a wide range of enemies.
We also get a look at Waldo (Stephen Lang), who has clearly shifted alliances and becomes a part of The Widow’s entourage, M.K. (Aramis Knight) and Tilda (Ally Ioannides). The show also stars Oliver Stark, Orla Brady and Madeleine Mantock.
From AMC Studios, the series was created by showrunners, executive producers, and writers Al Gough and Miles Millar. Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg, director David Dobkin, fight director Stephen Fung and Wu also serve as executive producers.
