Series co-creator Carter Bays broke the news Friday via Twitter, writing, “Here’s another bit of #HIMYM casting propaganda: A guest appearance by our good friend @Lin_Manuel Miranda!”
CBS did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for information on Miranda’s role.
Miranda is known for writing and starring in the Broadway production “In the Heights,” which earned him a Tony as a composer and lyricist. On television, he most recently appeared in NBC’s short-lived drama “Do No Harm.”
Earlier this week, it was announced that “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston had been cast to return to the series as Hammond Druthers, a horrible boss who experienced a fall from grace during one of Cranston’s earlier appearances on the series.
