MTV revealed its 2015 Movie Awards nominations on Wednesday morning and three summer blockbusters came up big.
Disney’s superhero-filled space adventure “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Fox’s terminal teen drama “The Fault in Our Stars” and Seth Rogen and Zac Efron’s raunchy feud flick “Neighbors” each earned nominations, while several big named actors found themselves up for multiple awards, including Rosamund Pike (“Gone Girl”), Dylan O’Brien (“The Maze Runner”), Scarlett Johansson (“Lucy,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”) and Efron.
Fans can now vote online for their favorite films and stars. The winners will be announced live at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, which actress-comedian Amy Schumer will host from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 12th at 8:00 p.m.
Nominees for movie of the year include “American Sniper,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1,” “Gonegirl,” “Boyhood,” “Whiplash,” “Selma,” “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Jennifer Lawrence (“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1”), Emma Stone (“Birdman”), Woodley, Johansson and Reese Witherspoon are nominated for Best Female Performance, while Bradley Cooper (“American Sniper”), Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Elgort, Channing Tatum (“Foxcatcher”) and Miles Teller (“Whiplash”) are up for the top male prize.
