GOP Congressman Paul Gosar forcefully denounced his family on Saturday over the decision of six of his brothers and sisters to endorse his Democratic opponent Dr. David Brill in a campaign commercial.
In an angry three-part tweet storm, the Arizona conservative declared them “disgruntled” supporters of Hillary Clinton and likened their actions to Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin.
“My siblings who chose to film ads against me are all liberal Democrats who hate President Trump,” he wrote. “These disgruntled Hillary suppporters [sic] are related by blood to me but like leftists everywhere, they put political ideology before family. Stalin would be proud.”

“You can’t pick your family. We all have crazy aunts and relatives etc and my family is no different. I hope they find peace in their hearts and let go all the hate,” he continued, with a warning Thanksgiving this year might be very awkward.
“To the six angry Democrat Gosars–see you at Mom and Dad’s house!”

Not one of my siblings lives in Arizona and my opponent's policies are out of sync with what Arizona wants and the country needs. I will not be deterred from fighting for our conservative values regardless of these attacks. #az04 #MAGA2018

The Gosar siblings were recruited by Brill for the 60-second spot which featured them denouncing their brother before offering the big reveal about their true identities at the end. The spot concluded with a Brill standing with his wife, telling viewers he “approves this message.”
“I think my brother has traded a lot of the values our family had at the kitchen table,” said Joan Gosar in this ad.
“We got to stand up for our good name. This is not who we are,” offered David Gosar.
