Fall Out Boy’s “Ghostbusters” theme song seems to be the least liked video on the band’s Vevo page — since its release on Thursday, it has garnered over 44,000 thumbs down.
The audio track for “Ghostbusters (I’m Not Afraid)” featuring Missy Elliott was viewed nearly 1.8 million times, and has received criticism all across social media.
A scan of all 136 videos on Fall Out Boy’s YouTube page reveals users there dislike the song as well, with “Ghostbusters” receiving a disproportionate number of dislikes compared with other songs. “Centuries,” for example, has 103.6 million views and 19,000 dislikes. “Immortals” has 88 million views, with 17,200 dislikes. Forty-three million people watched “I Don’t Care,” but only 5,400 people disliked it.
Yes, those are music videos, while the “Ghostbusters” song is just an audio file, but audio files on the band’s YouTube page have dislikes ranging anywhere from 500 to 3,000 — not 40,000.
It’s nowhere near the most disliked videos on YouTube. For example, Justin Bieber‘s “Baby” has over 6 million dislikes. Rebecca Black’s “Friday” garnered over 2 million thumbs down signs. Of course, “Ghostbusters” has only been online a day.
The movie “Ghostbusters,” directed by Paul Feig, stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. It will hit theaters July 15, 2016.
