“General Hospital” star Nancy Lee Grahn may want to just stick with reading words that other people have written for her.
On Sunday, the soap opera actress took a shot at Viola Davis‘ Emmy victory speech, which most people found to be one of the most moving moments of the night. Grahn was immediately taken to the woodshed for her tweet, and spent the rest of the evening and early morning hours apologizing for her choice of words.
Last night, Davis (“How to Get Away With Murder”) became the first black woman to win an Emmy as lead actress in a drama series: Read through the string of controversial tweets from the momentarily dismissive Grahn below.
I wish I loved #ViolaDavis Speech, but I thought she should have let @shondarhimes write it. #Emmys

I never mean to diminish her accomplishment. I wish I could get her roles. She is a goddess. I want equality 4 ALL women, not just actors.
