(Warning: Spoilers ahead)
HBO released a new poster and two new clips for the upcoming fifth season of “Game of Thrones” on Friday.
The poster features Tyrion Lannister on the deck of a ship, sailing directly into a dragon coming out of the mist. In the clips, Jon Snow questions Mance Rayder about his motivation for uniting all of the Wildling tribes in their march on The Wall. And finally, the last clip shows Brienne of Tarth lamenting to Podrick Payne that all of the lords of Westeros worth serving are dead.
Tyrion barely escaped death at the end of season four. After his champion lost in a trial by combat against The Mountain, Tyrion was set to be executed. He was subsequently freed by his brother, Jaime, and Varys. They put him on a ship bound for the Free Cities.
Jon Snow successfully defended The Wall against the attack by Mance Rayder and his Wildling army, though only the initial assault. Luckily for Snow, Stannis Barratheon arrived with an army of sellswords and crushed what remained of Mance’s army.
Brienne was tasked with finding Arya Stark by Jaime Lannister. She eventually did find her, but the youngest Stark girl slipped away. Brienne previously served Catelyn Stark and Renley Barratheon, both of whom were killed.
