Fundamental Films has purchased an untitled action-comedy pitch from Jonathan Keasey and Brant Boivin that Todd Garner will produce through his Broken Road Productions banner.
Plot details are being kept under wraps but the pitch is described as being in the vein of “Rush Hour” and “Beverly Hills Cop.”
Gary Glushon, who runs the LA office for Shanghai-based Fundamental Films, brought in the pitch and will be overseeing the project, which Sean Robins will oversee on behalf of Broken Road.
Keasey and Boivin recently finished writing the Anna May Wong biopic “Dragon Lady” for Fundamental Films. They’re represented by CAA and attorney David Matloff.
Fundamental is a Shanghai-based film financing/distribution/production company that co-produced “The Transporter” reboot over the summer with EuropaCorp. The company is also in pre-production on the Keanu Reeves movie “Replicas” and EuropaCorp’s “Warrior’s Gate,” which was written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen.
