Disney’s family film “Frozen” continued its stunning hold in Japan, capturing the top spot at the box office there for the ninth consecutive week.

The Disney Animation blockbuster dropped just 36 percent from last week and upped its total gross from that country to $164 million. It’s Disney’s biggest release ever in Japan, live action or animated.

In the process, “Frozen” moved with $25 million of “Iron Man 3” on the list of all-time earners at the worldwide box office with $1.19 billion, behind the $1.21 billion run up by Disney’s Marvel superhero sequel in 2013.

“Frozen” has taken in more than $400 million domestically since opening at Thanksgiving last fall, and brought in another $790 million from overseas.
