First Look: Nicole Kidman as Punk Rock Den Mother in ‘How to Talk to Girls at Parties’ (Video)

Cannes 2017: Oscar winner shows off her versatility in one of four films screening at festival

By now you’ve probably heard that this year’s Cannes Film Festival is actually a Nicole Kidman fan convention, as the “Big Little Lies” star has four films screening in France.

The good news? We’re getting wildly different Kidmans film by film. After the gossamer camp of the actress leading Sofia Coppola’s “The Beguiled,” we have a new Nicole to play with: punk rock.

A24 has released a clip of the actress in John Cameron Mitchell’s upcoming “How to Talk to Girls at Parties” — a 1970s London-set romance about a young punk who meets a beautiful alien (Elle Fanning), whose dueling cliques launch into a full “Romeo and Juliet” beef.

Kidman played the punk den mother, and looks like David Bowie in the seminal 1986 film “Labyrinth.”

The film will see its premiere this week in Cannes. Check out the clip:
