The first trailer for director Josh Trank‘s “Fantastic Four” debuted on Tuesday, and gave fans of the franchise a quick glimpse of Jamie Bell as the Thing, as well as the updated origin story of the young heroes and Doomsday scenario they will be teaming up to prevent.
Miles Teller plays Mister Fantastic, Michael B. Jordan lights up as the Human Torch and Kate Mara is the Invisible Woman, while Toby Kebbell plays bad guy Dr. Doom in the 20th Century Fox franchise reboot hitting theaters on Aug. 17.
Unlike the last big screen incarnation of the Marvel comic book, these “Fantastic Four” won’t be traveling to space. Instead, they teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form. Once they return, they must learn to harness their powers to save Earth from a former friend, whose powers have turned him into a global threat.
Trank, Simon Kinberg (“X-Men”) and Jeremy Slater worked on the screenplay, while Kinberg produced with Matthew Vaughn, Hutch Parker, Robert Kulzar and Gregory Goodman.
