Facebook, Lollapalooza Team on First-Ever Live Experience for Fans (Exclusive)

The social media giant will provide access to this year’s music festival through its Place Tips feature

Facebook and Lollapalooza will team for the first time to provide access to both music festivalgoers in Chicago and social media users looking to rock out from home.

Facebook’s Place Tips feature, introduced in January of this year, will allow fans from in the States to see friends’ Lollapalooza posts and photos as well as live, trending content from the festival. Attendees can open their Facebook app to access band lineups, maps, and stage locations.

According to Facebook, more than half of Facebook monthly actives are connected to an authentic musician/band Page and more than 780 million unique people are connected to (or have liked) one or more of these music Pages making music festivals, and Lolla, a big moment with engaged fans.

This partnership marks the first time Facebook’s Place Tips will be used for an event and accessible outside the geographic location.

Lollapalooza Place Tips is available starting Friday, July 31st.
