HBO has slated its Drake-produced high school drama series “Euphoria” for a June premiere.
A new teaser trailer for the coming-of-age series led by “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star Zendaya was released on Thursday, and announced that the show’s eight-episode first season would make its debut on Sunday, June 16.
Per HBO, the show “follows a group of high school students as they navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship.” Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney also star.
“Euphoria” is written and executive produced by “Assassination Nation” filmmaker Sam Levinson.
Other executive producers on the show include Drake, Future the Prince, Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokady, Gary Lennon and Jim Kleverweis.
The project hails from A24 and is based on the Israeli series of the same name from HOT that was created by Leshem and Levin.
