The Emmy nominations for 2016 were announced on July 14, and the awards show itself is fast approaching — the Emmys ceremony will air Sunday night on ABC.
“Game of Thrones” led with the most Emmy nominations — 23 — but was closely followed by the FX limited series “The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” which scored 22 nods. FX also scored with the second season of “Fargo,” which had 18 nominations.
In the acting categories, Laurie Metcalf managed to net three nominations for her roles in “Horace and Pete,” “The Big Bang Theory” and “Getting On.”
The 68th Annual Emmy Awards will air live on ABC on Sept. 18 and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
