The title of Ryan Murphy’s new horror comedy series “Scream Queens” just may refer to the four girls at the center of the show, and a new series of videos introduces audiences to the Chanels.
Emma Roberts stars as Chanel Oberlin, who’s such a Queen Bee that she named her clique and her three best friends after herself. “She’s a bitch, for lack of a better word,” Roberts said in her video.
She’s flanked by Chanel #2, played by Ariana Grande, who’s described by the star as “the safest, least daring one of the group,” Chanel #3, played by newcomer Billie Lourd, the “sassy, low-key” one, and Chanel #5, the put together but slightly sociopathic member of the group, played by Abigail Breslin.
The girls also all reiterate that the show is seriously funny, with deadpan, sarcastic humor mixed in with the stabbings and other gruesome murders at the sorority house.
Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis and Skyler Samuels also star.
“Scream Queens” will premiere with a two-hour series premiere episode on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
