Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey find themselves both victims in a twisted take on cyberstalking in the trailer for “Open Windows.” The story follows Wood’s character, Nick, after he’s won a date with his favorite actress Jill Goddard, portrayed by Grey.
When she stands him up for the date, though, her manager — played by Neil Maskell — makes Wood’s character a twisted offer to make up for it. Wood can secretly watch her from his laptop via her webcam, and she’ll never know he’s watching.

But that’s just the beginning, as suddenly the actress finds herself in danger — and it looks like Maskell’s Chord is the one coming after her. And he may not be her manager after all. So what is his end game and why pull Wood into it?
Meanwhile, Wood can’t just sit by and watch as Grey is terrorized by this strange man, though he’s not sure what he can do to help.

It’s a psychological thriller with very modern sensibilities, with a trailer that matches. Multiple shots dominate the screen at any one time, like multiple open windows on a computer desktop. It’s a veritable onslaught of sight and sound and terror.
Directed by Nacho Vigalondo from his own script, the film was produced by Belén Atienza, Mercedes Gamero and Enrique López Lavigne. Cinedigm will make “Open Windows” available via Video on Demand on Oct. 2, and release it in theaters on Nov. 7.
