Bad news, Donald Trump; you’ve been knocked out of the Entertainment section of the Huffington Post.
HuffPo, which had been covering Trump’s presidential campaign in its Entertainment section, decided to pull him from the section on Monday, after he called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.”
Huffington Post editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington said in a statement on the website that Trump’s campaign, which began as a “sideshow,” has “also morphed into something else: an ugly and dangerous force in American politics.”
While the site will no longer cover Trump’s campaign in the Entertainment section, she added, “that’s not to say we’ll be treating it as if it were a normal campaign.”
On Monday, in a statement posted on his campaign website, Trump cited poll numbers on Muslims’ opinions of violence in America and wrote, “Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life.”
