Donald Trump doubled down on his call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S. on Tuesday, telling multiple morning shows he is more concerned with protecting the U.S. than being politically correct.
“You’re going to have many more World Trade Centers,” Trump told CNN’s Chris Cuomo regarding the need to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. until our current leaders figure out how to solve the problem of radical Islamist terrorism.
Cuomo pressed back at Trump, asking him if he believes there’s any credence that his comments are fascists.
“I totally disagree,” he said, pointing out that we have no idea who is radicalized in America. He emphasized that America is at war and that he’s only talking about a temporary ban on Muslims coming into America until the situation stabilizes.
On “Good Morning America,” George Stephanopoulos grilled Trump on how his plan would work. Trump pointed to FDR, who created proclamations that stupid Germans and Japanese citizens of their naturalizations rights.
On “Morning Joe,” Trump conceded he doesn’t have it completely figured out as far as how to implement his plan, but suggested customs ask people entering the U.S. if they’re Muslim. The interview got so contentious, Joe Scarborough demanded producers go to break since Trump wouldn’t let him get a word in.
