Donald Trump isn’t happy with CNN, calling the cable news network “biased and very dumb.”

As coverage of the vice presidential debate got underway on Tuesday evening, the GOP White House candidate tweeted a negative message about the CNN commentators.

“Wow, @CNN is so negative,” Trump tweeted. “Their panel is a joke, biased and very dumb.

“I’m turning to @FoxNews where we get a fair shake! Mike will do great,” he added, a reference to Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, who debated Democrat Tim Kaine.

Trump has had a love-hate with much of the media, criticizing and even banning certain journalists from regular access but also depending on reporters generally for coverage of his campaign.

He has reserved special scorn for CNN, which earlier this year he dubbed the “press shop” for Hillary Clinton.

Back in August, Trump tweeted, “people believe CNN these days almost as little as they believe Hillary….that’s really saying something!”

Earlier in the summer, Trump tweeted that he didn’t watch CNN, but complained repeatedly about the network’s coverage anyway. “CNN anchors are completely out of touch with everyday people worried about rising crime, failing schools and vanishing jobs,” he tweeted.

Another time, he simply urged his followers: “Don’t watch CNN!”
