Demi Moore is biting glad to talk about her two front teeth.
In an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Monday night, Moore said she “sheared off” her two front teeth as a result of stress.
Moore said to Fallon that she thinks it’s important to talk about the reason why she lost her teeth, saying that behind heart disease, stress is a leading cause of death to Americans.
“I’d love to say it was like skateboarding or something really cool, but I think it’s something that’s really important to share because I think it’s literally after heart disease one of the biggest killers in America, which is stress,” the 54-year-old actress told Fallon.
Chatter around her broken chatterbox raised questions following her “Tonight Show” appearance. Moore cleared things up in a statement to Page Six: “They happened a year apart but the fact remains that I sheared off both my front teeth… Thank God for modern dentistry. Without it, I wouldn’t be smiling on the red carpet.”
This isn’t the first time Moore has talked about her missing teeth. On “The Ellen Show” in 2010, she told the story of how her front tooth fell into her hand. “I basically thought, ‘my warranty was up,’ that was it,” she said with a laugh.
Indeed, according to dentists, teeth grinding is usually brought on by stress — and can ultimately result in losing permanent teeth.
Thank god for dentistry is right.
