David Oyelowo has signed on to Blumhouse’s “Only You,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
“Mean Creek” writer/director Jacob Estes is directing the movie, which is a thriller involving time travel. The plot itself remains under wraps.
Blumhouse honcho Jason Blum is producing, and Oyelowo is attached as an executive producer along with Couper Samuelson, Jeanette Volturno and Jay Martin.
Blumhouse’s latest hits include “Split” and “Get Out,” the latter of which was a hit critically and financially. Other films produced by Blumhouse include “The Visit,” “The Gift,” “The Belko Experiment” and “The Purge.” Upcoming projects include “Insidious: Chapter 4,” “Halloween” and the TV series “Sharp Objects.”
Oyelowo’s credits include “Selma,” “Queen of Katwe” and “A United Kingdom.” He will next star an untitled Nash Edgerton project as well as a “Cloverfield” movie.
Oyelowo is represented by CAA, Inphenate, UK based Hamilton-Hodell and attorney Ira Schreck.
