The Recording Academy has enshrined 25 new songs into the Grammy Hall of Fame, including tracks from David Bowie (pictured above), Prince, N.W.A and Nirvana.
Also counted among the inductees are tunes by The Jackson 5, The Beach Boys, Sonny & Cher, Elvis Presley, R.E.M., Rod Stewart, Louis Armstrong and others.
“The Grammy Hall Of Fame represents all genres of music, acknowledging the diversity of musical expression for which The Academy has become renowned,” said Neil Portnow, president/CEO of The Recording Academy. “Memorable and inspiring, these recordings are proudly added to our growing catalog and are an integral part of our musical, social and cultural history.”
Recordings must be at least 25 years old to qualify. The Hall itself is 44, now with 1,038 songs to date. Here’s the full list from this year:
