The CW has ordered two new pilots, Lucy Hale-led dramedy “Life Sentence” and “Insatiable” from “Dexter” producer Lauren Gussis.
“Life Sentence” follows a young woman diagnosed with terminal cancer, who finds out that she’s not dying after all, forcing her to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to “live like she was dying.”
Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith are writing and executive producing the pilot, with Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold also serving as EPs. The project hails from Doozer Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
“Insatiable” follows a disgraced, dissatisfied civil lawyer-turned-beauty pageant coach who takes on a vengeful, bullied teenager as his client, with no idea what he’s about to unleash upon the world.
Gussis writes and executive produces, with Ryan Seacrest and Nina Wass acting as EPs through Ryan Seacrest Productions, along with Todd Hoffman and Dennis Kim through Storied Media Group.
These new orders brings The CW’s pilot orders this season to 4. “Life Sentence” and “Insatiable” join the previously ordered “Dynasty” reboot and “Searchers,” from “The 100” showrunner Jason Rothenberg and Greg Berlanti.
Hale previously starred on The CW’s “Privileged.”
