Barry Levinson, Oscar-winning director of “Rain Man,” will be honored by the Casting Society of America at their annual Artios Awards, which will take place Jan.18, 2018, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and at Stage 48 in New York City.
Levinson will receive the Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award, awarded to those who made contributions to New York’s entertainment industry. Also being honored is CAA rep Kevin Huvane, who will receive Lynn Stalmaster Award for Career Achievement. In addition to his leading role at CAA, Huvane has represented several major stars, including Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez.
Casting director Victoria Thomas will also receive the Hoyt Bowers Award for outstanding contribution to the casting profession. Thomas’ credits include work on “Django Unchained,” “Hidden Figures,” and “Edward Scissorhands.”
The Casting Society America also announced their full list of 2018 nominees forOutstanding Achievement in Casting in the television, theatre, short form series and short film categories.
