CNN’s “New Day” co-host Alisyn Camerota said she had a “hard time working for Roger Ailes” when she was employed by Fox News and admitted to being part of the internal investigation against the disgraced media executive.
“I had a hard time working for Roger Ailes, on a bunch of different levels. And I think that we were all scared,” Camerota told Pete Dominick of SiriusXM. “He was a scary person to work for. It wasn’t easy.”
Camerota joined CNN in 2014 after spending 16 years at Fox News working under Ailes, who stepped down last summer after former FNC host Gretchen Carlson made sexual harassment claims that were echoed by numerous women, including Megyn Kelly.
“He could be loud… there was a whole culture that flowed down from how he ruled with an iron-fist,” Camerota said. “I think it was brave of Gretchen to go public with that. Obviously it set of a cascading event that changed the course of Fox News history.”
Camerota said she did her part to try to “break the bully system there,” and said she was part of the internal investigation against Ailes.
“I was part of the investigation, because, you know I had a lot of interactions with him,” she said.
