Comedians who take on Donald Trump via social media are a dime a dozen, but when a famous father-son duo does, it’s worth noting.

Legendary comic Carl Reiner and his son, director Rob Reiner, engaged in an online exchange this week that could best be described as a Trump Twitter takedown.

Rob is best known for directing comedies including “This Is Spinal Tap” and “When Harry Met Sally…,” and also politically themed movies including “A Few Good Men” and “The American President.”

The 69-year-old fired off the first salvo on Tuesday, using his very first tweet to blast the presumptive GOP nominee.

His 94-year-old father Carl then encouraged his 133,000 followers to join his son. (How many 94-year-olds do you know on Twitter?) The elder Reiner’s endorsement helped, as Rob’s tweet got more than 5,000 likes and retweets, and he netted thousands of followers.

Since then, the Reiners have been alternating their anti-Trump tweets. Below are some highlights.

This is one family where it appears politics can be discussed!

Rob is also enlisting his famous friends to tweet insults at Donald Trump.

A Reiner spokesperson tells TheWrap that Jamie Lee Curtis, Amy Schumer and Barbra Streisand are ready to take a social media swing at the candidate.
