Kyra Sedgwick Introduces Andre Braugher to New Cop Crew on ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Season Premiere (Exclusive Video)

If you thought the misfits from the 99th precinct were bad, check out Captain Holt’s new challenge ahead of Sunday’s episode

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is back on Sunday, but Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) won’t be spending a heck of a lot of time with Andy Samberg and the rest of the regular crew.

Holt’s nemesis Deputy Chief Wuntch has reassigned the former 99th precinct captain to oversee a bunch of (other) losers, who are currently struggling to name the NYPD’s new pigeon mascot. Still, Holt remains undeterred by Wuntch’s power move — or the barbs they opened the below scene exchanging.

“I came out as a gay cop in the 1980s, so it’s gonna take more than reassigning me to break my spirit,” the stoic characters says in a premiere preview video, which is exclusive to TheWrap. “I’ll turn this place around, just like I did the Nine-Nine.”

Unfortunately, Wuntch immediately shoots down Holt’s eight-point plan for community engagement — at least until they finish the old initiative, which has been making little-to-no progress over the course of several months.

Just go with something like Coo the Cop Pigeon, you guys!

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” returns for Season 3 on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
