Lifetime’s Britney Spears biopic “Britney” has rounded out its cast with actors filling roles that were central to the life of the iconic pop princess.
Nathan Keyes will play Justin Timberlake, Clayton Chitty will portray Kevin Federline, and Kelly McCabe will feature as
Australian actress Natasha Bassett was previously announced to play the pop star.
“Britney” is a two-hour TV movie that will purport to tell the tumultuous story of the pop icon’s rise to fame, fall from grace and eventual resurrection, which firmly secured her status as one of the world’s greatest entertainers.
Well-documented milestones in the singer’s life including her relationship with Timberlake, marriage to Federline and public breakdown will all be included.
Nicole Oliver will play Britney’s mom, Lynne Spears, and Matthew Harrison will play Jamie Spears, the pop star’s dad.
Of the more tangential figures througout Spears’ career, Tamara Thorsen will play Jenna Dewan, now wife of Channing Tatum but apparently an NSYNC backup dancer and reported Timberlake girlfriend back in the day. Markian Tarasiuk will play Wade Robson, Britney Spears‘ former backup dancer with whom she reportedly had a fling.
Production is now underway in Vancouver for a 2017 premiere on Lifetime. Leslie Libman will direct from a script by Anne-Marie Hess.
“Britney” is produced by Asylum Entertainment for Lifetime. Steve Michaels, Jonathan Koch and Joan Harrison are executive producers.
