The moment of reckoning is here for Rick on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” And we reckon that it’s going to take him a long while to process what’s going on.
As TheWrap previously reported, the CBS soap hit viewers with a humdinger of a story twist when it was revealed that Maya (played by Karla Mosley) was actually born a male, named Myron.
And now it’s time for Maya to reveal the that little tidbit to her fiance Rick.
Unfortunately, Rick proves to be exceedingly slow on the uptake, forcing Maya to drop about half a million clues before the lightbulb finally clicks on above his head.
“There is something about me that I think a husband deserves to know about his wife,” Maya begins her explanation, thus beginning the long, slow path to Rick’s moment of realization.
Eventually, Rick puts two and two together, comes up with something in the neighborhood of four, and asks Maya if all of this has anything to do with the estrogen that he found.
Yes, Maya notes. Yes it does.
“It helps me live the life that I was meant to the life. That I’ve always seen for myself because the life that I was living before was wrong,” Maya explains.
Eventually, she explains that she was born with a boy’s name, “because they raised me as a boy.”
And that’s when something finally clicks in Rick’s mind. In soap-opera fashion, cue the camera closing in on Rick’s shocked expression and the swelling, dramatic music.
