Oprah Winfrey got emotional on Thursday when she learned that Whitney Houston‘s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was on life support after being placed in a medically induced coma at an Atlanta Hospital last week.
“There aren’t any words right now,” Winfrey told a TMZ cameraman after she appeared to hold back tears. “But it’s a sad time.”
Despite grim media reports, the 21-year-old reality star’s father, Bobby Brown, has issued a statement saying she has not been removed from life support.
“This is false, just as is the vast majority of the other reporting that is currently taking place,” he said on Thursday.
Winfrey had interviewed Bobbi Kristina twice in her life, once in 2009 on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and again in 2012 on “Oprah’s Next Chapter.”
Paramedics were called to Bobbi Kristina’s house when live-in partner, Nick Gordon, and a friend found her unconscious and face down in a bathtub. After initial treatment at North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, she was transferred to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta Monday.
