Bloomingdale’s is really sorry if an ad featured in a catalog appeared to not only approve, but actually recommend date raping your female best friend.
The department store chain has issued an apology after complaints started rolling in on social media about an with copy reading, “Spike Your Best Friend’s Egg Nog When They’re Not Looking.”
The picture (above): A dapper man eyeing up a beautiful blonde, who’s looking in the opposite direction way while laughing.
“In reflection of recent feedback, the copy we used in our recent catalog was inappropriate and in poor taste. Bloomingdale’s sincerely apologizes for this error in judgment,” the company said in a statement.
Unfortunately, the ad is in a print catalog distributed for holiday sales, so that means it will be causing more jaws to drop for days to come.
Here’s some of the online chatter surrounding the shocking advertising decision.
Fascinated that throughout the editing process, nobody suggested this Christmas ad is a bad idea #Bloomingdales pic.twitter.com/zUaNJnlK7y

In case it needs saying,
DO NOT SPIKE YOUR BEST FRIEND'S EGGNOG.
OR ANYONE'S EGGNOG.
OR ANYONE'S DRINKS.
EVER.
