CMA Denies Removing Beyonce Performance From Website, Social Media After Racist Backlash

Performance of “Daddy Lessons” with Dixie Chicks drew controversy even before it aired

The Country Music Association did not remove mentions of Beyonce’s performance at Wednesday night’s CMA Awards from its website and social media, despite reports to the contrary. At least, that’s the word from the Association, which called Beyonce taking the stage  with the Dixie Chicks as a “highlight of the evening.”

According to the association, the only mention of Beyonce’s appearance that was removed was an unapproved, five-second promotional clip that was pulled prior to the broadcast.

“CMA has not erased any mentions of Beyonce’s performance on the CMA Awards,” the Association said in a statement Thursday. “In advance of the broadcast, CMA removed a five-second promotional clip from ABC.com
