“Batwoman” didn’t shine as bright last night as it did with the prior Sunday’s debut. Fortunately for ABC, “Kids Say the Darndest Things” didn’t share that retention problem.

On Sunday, The CW’s latest superhero show shed about one-third of its Week 1 demo rating — at least in terms of rounded Nielsen numbers. If extrapolated to additional decimal points, the drop off from week to week was closer to one-quarter of the series premiere’s rating in the key 18-49 demographic.

Anyway, The CW finished in last place last night, when NBC won outright due to “Sunday Night Football.” Due to the nature of live sports, the below fast-national numbers for NBC and CBS should be considered subject to significant adjustment.

NBC was first in ratings with a 3.4 rating/15 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 11.1 million, according to preliminary numbers. That was the combination of primetime kickoff show “Football Night in America” and the NFL game itself.

CBS was second in ratings with a 1.7/7 and in viewers with 9.7 million. An NFL overrun at 7 p.m. posted a 5.5/25 and 22.4 million viewers. From 7:30 to 8:30, “60 Minutes” enjoyed an inflated a 2.1/9 and 12 million viewers. From 8:30-9:30, “God Friended Me” had a 1.0/4 and 7 million viewers. “NCIS: Los Angeles” from 9:30 to 10:30 got a 0.8/3 and 6.4 million viewers. “Madam Secretary” started at 10:30 and received a 0.5/3 and 4.6 million viewers.

ABC and Fox tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.7/3. ABC was third in total viewers with 4.3 million, Fox was fourth with 1.9 million.

For ABC, “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 7 had a 0.7/3 and 5.1 million viewers. At 8, “Kids Say the Darndest Things” got a 0.7/3 and 4.8 million viewers. “Shark Tank” at 9 received a 0.7/3 and 3.7 million viewers. At 10, “The Rookie” dipped to a 0.6/3 and 3.6 million viewers.

For Fox, following reruns, “The Simpsons” at 8 had a 0.8/3 and 2.1 million viewers. “Bless the Harts” at 8:30 got a 0.6/2 and 1.5 million viewers. At 9, “Bob’s Burgers” received a 0.7/3 and 1.7 million viewers. At 9:30, “Family Guy” matched its lead-in’s rating and share, but improved the overall audience average to 1.8 million viewers.

Telemundo was fifth in ratings with a 0.4/2 and sixth in viewers with 1.15 million.

Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/1 and fifth in viewers with 1.18 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 1.05 million. “Batwoman” at 8 had a 0.3/1 and 1.5 million viewers. “Supergirl” at 9 got a 0.3/1 and 974,000 viewers.
