HBO’s “Ballers” is set to end with its upcoming fifth season, series star Dwayne Johnson announced on Instagram Thursday.

“Cheers to our final season of HBO’s Ballers,” wrote the actor, who also serves as executive producer on the series. “My heart [heart] is full of gratitude to all of you for rockin’ with us every season … I love you, I thank you and enjoy our final season of Ballers.”

Set in the “glamorous and often cutthroat world of pro football,” “Ballers” stars Johnson as an ex-superstar who has reinvented himself as a financial manager for today’s players. John David Washington, Rob Corddry, Omar Benson Miller, Donovan Carter, Troy Garity, London Brown and Brittany S. Hall also star.

The fifth season, which debuts on HBO on Sunday, sees Johnson’s character “settling into retirement and reflecting on his past when an offer that’s too good to refuse comes his way and sends him back into the lion’s den, this time as a team owner.”

The series was created by Stephen Levinson, with Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Peter Berg, Rob Weiss, Denis Biggs, Karyn McCarthy and Julian Farino serving as executive producers.
