Mayte Garcia is set to play a senator’s wife on ABC drama pilot “The Kingmakers,” TheWrap has learned.
“The Kingmakers” follows a young man whose sister is found dead during her freshman year at an elite Ivy League university. The man adopts a new identity to infiltrate the school and its century-old secret society — consisting of privileged students, ambitious faculty, and high-profile alums — in order to investigate her death.
Garcia plays the guest role (which would be a recurring role if the series is picked up) of Sylvia Walden, a well-bred society woman who’s married to Sen. Adam Walden (Adrian Pasdar). Sylvia grows increasingly depressed though as her husband’s indifference to her mounts and his plans to run for U.S. president near.
In addition to Pasdar, the cast includes Colm Feore, Kristin Bauer van Straten and Khary Payton.
Fans of Lifetime’s “Army Wives” would recognize Garcia from the recurring role of Jennifer Connor. Her television credits also include USA Network’s “Psych,” NBC’s “Las Vegas.” TNT’s “The Closer,” and FX’s “Nip Tuck.”
Pantheon and manager Gladys Gonzalez represent Garcia.
