IFC Films has acquired U.S. rights to writer-director Victor Levin’s romantic dramedy “5 to 7,” which premiered in April at the Tribeca Film Festival, the company announced Tuesday.
The film stars Anton Yelchin, Bérénice Marlohe, Olivia Thirlby, Lambert Wilson, Frank Langella and Glenn Close.
“5 to 7” was produced by Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis for Mockingbird Pictures and Sam Englebardt and William Johnson for Demarest Films. The film was executive produced by David Greathouse, Ruth Mutch and Benjamin and Theresa Castellano-Wood.

Set in New York, story follows an aspiring novelist (Yelchin) who has a ‘5 to 7’ affair with the beautiful wife (Marlohe) of a French diplomat. Cultures, world views, personal ethics and dietary preferences clash as love deepens, with remarkable results.
“Victor Levin makes a formidable debut as a feature director and draws out impeccable performances from his entire cast in this film,” said Jonathan Sehring, president of Sundance Selects/IFC Films.

The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, SVP of acquisitions from Sundance Selects/IFC Films, with CAA and WME Global on behalf of the filmmakers. The Solution Entertainment Group is handling international rights to the film.
A Golden Globe winner and four-time Emmy nominee, Levin has been writing for film and television since 1990. His served as co-executive producer on AMC’s “Mad Men,” EP/showrunner on NBC’s “Mad About You” and writer/producer on HBO’s “The Larry Sanders Show.” His feature work includes the screenplay for DreamWorks’ 2004 comedy “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!”
