Anthony Scaramucci Gets One Last Parting Gift From Trump on His Way Out the Door

Ouch

Anthony Scaramucci was fired as Donald Trump’s communications director on Monday, ending a tumultuous 10 days on the job. But if he was hoping for a dignified sendoff, let’s just say … that’s not what he got.

Just hours after his abrupt exit was announced by the White House, President Trump gave him one last parting gift.

“A great day at the White House!” Trump tweeted Monday afternoon.

While the president didn’t mention Scaramucci in his tweet, it doesn’t seem he’s too bothered by the whole thing.

In an earlier statement, the White House said: “Mr Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team. We wish him all the best.”

Scaramucci’s tenure as White House communications director was short but significant. In his 10 days on the job, he forced the resignations of both press secretary Sean Spicer and former White House chief of staff, Reince Priebus.

Meanwhile, former Secretary of Homeland Security Kelly was sworn in as White House chief of staff Monday morning.
