File this in your TMI file: Trump’s newly-minted communications director isn’t into self-felatio.
Insisting he had no interest in media attention, Anthony Scaramucci took a shot at Trump’s chief strategist, telling the New Yorker: “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own c–.”
“I’m not trying to build my own brand off the f—ing strength of the president,” he added. “I’m here to serve the country.”
A White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment. But soon after the New Yorker’s story posted, Scaramucci tweeted: “I sometimes use colorful language. I will refrain in this arena but not give up the passionate fight for @realDonaldTrump‘s agenda.”
The comments were made during an unvarnished interview in which Scaramucci discussed his frustration with White House leakers. Scaramucci accused White House chief of staff Reince Priebus of leaking information about him.
Scaramucci called Priebus a “paranoid schizophrenic,” adding that he will be asked to resign shortly.
“They’ll all be fired by me,” he said about the leakers. “I fired one guy the other day. I have three to four people I’ll fire tomorrow. I’ll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus — if you want to leak something — he’ll be asked to resign very shortly.”
Scaramucci believed that Priebus was the one who told the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza about a planned dinner with Trump, Fox News host Sean Hannity and former Fox News executive Bill Shine at the White House.
“‘Oh, Bill Shine is coming in. Let me leak the f—ing thing and see if I can c—block these people the way I c—blocked Scaramucci for six months,’” he said mimicking, Priebus.
On Thursday morning, Scaramucci called into CNN suggesting that Priebus had leaked his financial disclosure report.
“If Reince wants to explain that he’s not a leaker, let him do that,” Scaramucci said. “Let me tell you something about myself — I am a straight shooter, and I’ll go right to the heart of the matter.”
The financial disclosure is actually a public document and was obtained by Politico through normal channels.
