Anna Kooiman will step down from her position as co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekend” to relocate to Australia, co-president Bill Shine announced on Friday.
“We’d like to thank Anna for her considerable contributions to the network and send her nothing but our best as she embarks on this new endeavor abroad,” Shine said.
Kooiman, who will continue as a Fox News freelance correspondent, will be substituted in the interim by a series of rotating guest co-hosts until a permanent replacement is named. She is moving to Australia because her husband, a native of Sydney, recently accepted a new job at Tullet Prebon.
“It’s been a dream working at Fox News — I have learned so much in my five years here, and will be forever grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible people,” Kooiman said.
Her last day on “Fox & Friends Weekend” will be Monday, Sept. 5.
Before joining Fox News in 2011, Kooiman hosted Fox News Rising, a four-hour news and entertainment morning show in Charlotte. Prior to that, she worked for a variety of local stations.
Last week, Shine and Jack Abernethy were named co-presidents of the network. Abernethy oversees all business components of Fox News and Fox Business channels, while Shine handles programming.
