Angelina Jolie topped Forbes Most Powerful Actress list, and Hugh Jackman the Most Powerful Actors one, the business publication revealed Wednesday.
The lists take into account earnings and "power," but criteria are not overtly defined by the magazine.
Jolie's courageous disclosure of her double mastectomy because she carries a gene that heightens the risk of breast cancer helped shape a national debate and bolstered her power within the celebrity world.
Jolie ranks 41 overall in Forbes' Top Celebrity 100 list, raking in $33 million from June 2012 to June 2013. A lot of that sum comes from her upfront pay for the movie "Maleficent."
The second most-powerful actress is newcomer Jennifer Lawrence, who comes in at No. 49 on the celebrity list for earnings of $26 million. Lawrence won her first Oscar this year as Best Actress for "Silver Linings Playbook."
Jennifer Aniston came in third in the actress list and 64th in top celebrity ranking.

Robert Downey, Jr. is the second most-powerful actor. "The Avengers" was the third highest-grossing movie of all time and Downey its highest-paid actor. He came in 20th on the celebrity list.
Leonardo DiCaprio finished third in the actors rankings and 21st in the celeb list.
