Amy Schumer has signed a first-look deal with Hulu, the streaming service revealed during the Television Critics Association press tour Friday. The initial project under the pact is “Love, Beth,” a new comedy series starring and executive produced by the comedian.

Schumer plays the title character on the 10-episode, half-hour show, which is expected to launch in late 2020. Further details about the series — including casting, plot description and premiere date — will be announced at a later date.

“Love, Beth” is created, directed, written, executive produced by and stars Schumer. Kim Caramele and Kevin Kane are also executive producers. The series hails from Endeavor Content, which is also representing international sales.

The announcement of Schumer’s first-look deal and new project was made by Hulu’s senior vice president of originals, Craig Erwich, during his presentation at the TCA tour Friday.

He also revealed the streaming service has renewed the critically acclaimed dystopian drama “The Handmaid’s Tale” for Season 4, ordered a Padma Lakshmi-hosted series exploring the culinary traditions of immigrant communities, added Mahershala Ali to Season 2 of “Ramy,” set premiere dates for new shows “Dollface” and “Reprisal,” as well as Season 3 of “Marvel’s Runaways,” and released a teaser for “Looking for Alaska” and a trailer for “Wu-Tang: An American Saga.”
