Amazon’s “Alpha House” is effectively (and officially) canceled, studio head Roy Price confirmed Sunday during his executive session at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour.
Oh, and “The Interestings” won’t be going beyond the pilot stage.
When asked if the John Goodman series was indeed dead after two seasons — a foregone conclusion at this point for most — Price responded: “‘Alpha House’ is not a current show.”
He did add theoretically that “Alpha House” could return, should hot-button societal issues re-align with the political plot. Price didn’t sound super-optimistic about those chances, however, and neither should fans who feel hopeful.
“I like to leave my options open,” he explained later, when asked specifically how and when TV writers are supposed to know if an Amazon Original has been canceled.
So that’s helpful.
