“Today’s” attempt to conduct an interview with “Parks and Recreation” star Nick Offerman via a canoe ran aground on Wednesday, as Al Roker was unable to sit upright in small water vessel.
Offerman was on the show to promote his new book, “Paddle Your Own Canoe,” so, Roker and Willie Geist had the clever idea of putting everyone in a canoe to discuss it.
There was just one problem: while Offerman and Geist had seemingly no problems remaining upright in their ships, Roker could not.

Roker eventually settled for propping himself up in Geist’s lap, turning what surely would have otherwise been a serious, hard-hitting interview into a ridiculous farce.
As for Offerman, he took it all in stride, saying: “You guys are proving my point: life is more romantic in a canoe.”
